Cross-border cooperation for the transformation of energy systems

The aim of the partnership is to ensure a secure and sustainable energy supply, also in the light of international efforts to curb climate change. In addition, a sustainable energy system is to be developed and improved. This is to be made possible in particular through the increased expansion of renewable energies and the use of energy efficiency technologies as well as the involvement of the private sector.
The thematic focus areas of the cooperation are:
- National energy efficiency policy and its implementation
- Operation of the electricity grid using a high proportion of renewable energies and interconnectors
- Innovation and development of a startup ecosystem in the energy sector
- Strengthening the participation and leadership role of women in the energy sector
The topics of cybersecurity in the electricity grid and green hydrogen are also gaining in importance.
