Staff Unit for Politics, Strategy and Key Issues

We are the point of contact for an overarching exchange on political and strategic issues (both national and international)

Our mission

We follow key political processes and develop new strategic topics. We prepare current data and facts on the energy transition and climate protection for various areas and teams. We coordinate the development of dena’s positions and engage in dialogue with key players in politics and society.

Our approach

We advise on political and strategic issues and support dena’s project work, with our focus spanning a wide variety of sectors. To this end, we prepare current and relevant energy and climate policy topics in analysis and dialogue concepts. We are responsible for specific projects in the areas of carbon management, the circular economy, financing, acceptance and governance.

Our organisational structure

The staff unit has around 20 employees and is organised into three teams.

Energy and Climate Policy: focuses on energy and climate policy in Germany, the EU and selected non-European partner countries of the German government.

Strategy and Key Issues: deals with strategically important and cross-sectional issues relating to the energy transition and climate protection, such as carbon management, the circular economy and financing.

Statistics and Analyses: compiles relevant figures, data and facts on the energy transition and climate protection.
