Our mission

We are active internationally in order to achieve the climate protection targets of the Paris Agreement and to strengthen Germany’s energy security in the long term. We promote global markets for the energy transition and climate protection and drive forward specific solutions in partner countries. Our focus is on expanding renewable energies, integrating them into the energy systems and modernising the energy infrastructure. We work on designing the legal and technical framework conditions for the electricity and energy market and the global market ramp-up of green hydrogen.

Our approach

Our regional focus is on Europe, Asia, Central Asia, Latin America and the MENA region. We focus equally on bilateral cooperation with individual countries and multilateral formats with relevant stakeholders from politics, business and society. In this manner, we support the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in the implementation of energy partnerships and dialogues. The energy transition in Germany serves as a showcase for practical examples and innovations. We use trips and workshops with specialists as well as various studies as tools.
