dena regularly publishes a public corporate governance report in order to comply with the recommendations of Germany’s Public Corporate Governance Code (PCGK) as a public company owned by the German federal government.

What is Germany’s Public Corporate Governance Code?

The German federal cabinet adopted the ‘Grundsätze guter Unternehmens- und Beteiligungsführung im Bereich des Bundes’ [Principles of Good Corporate and Investment Management in the Federal Government] on 1 July 2009. These principles were revised and adopted by the German federal government on 16 September 2020. The regulations contain key provisions of the applicable law on the management and supervision of companies in which the federal government holds an interest. The regulations also set out internationally and nationally recognised standards of good and responsible corporate governance. The aim is to make corporate management and monitoring more transparent and comprehensible.

dena has published sustainability reports every two years since the 2019 financial year in accordance with the criteria of the German Sustainability Code (DNK). 

This code sets out a reporting standard with four core areas, and compliance with it is a prerequisite for receiving an award. These include strategy and process management as well as environmental and social aspects. This ensures that corporate sustainability is considered comprehensively: dena also reports on climate-relevant emissions and emphasises the responsible use of natural resources, in addition to innovation and product management, process design and the depth of the value chain. It ensures transparent compliance with employee and human rights, promotes equal opportunities and training and addresses compliance issues. 

As of the 2024 reporting year, publication will take place annually.

dena publishes a comprehensive final report on the development of its business activities every year. Since 2021, this has been published not only as annual financial statements, but also as a comprehensive annual report. It provides you with practical insights into current projects, the course of business, and economic developments in the financial year.
