This department examines renewable energies, infrastructure and synthetic energy sources in the overall system
Our mission
Germany aims to become climate neutral by 2045. We consider the transformation of the energy system as a whole in order to ensure that the energy supply of the future is environmentally friendly, secure, economically viable and fair. We are involved in the import, generation, distribution and marketing of electricity and district heating as well as hydrogen and its derivatives. Our focus is on technical, economic and regulatory issues.
Our approach
Our focus is on the transformation of the conventional energy industry. We offer comprehensive consulting services, work on an interdisciplinary basis with various partners, and prepare studies and analyses. We bring stakeholders together in complex stakeholder processes and support the German government in the implementation of various energy transition measures.
Our organisational structure
The division has around 100 employees and is divided into three work areas.
Renewable Energies: works on electricity and heat generation from wind, sun, bioenergy or solar energy, and advises the renewable energies sector in Germany on exporting its technologies.
Hydrogen and Synthetic Energy Sources: focusses on the import and production of hydrogen and its integration into the energy system, deals with issues relating to value chains and sustainability.
Infrastructure and Overall System: considers the energy system holistically and across sectors, deals with the development and conversion of electricity, gas and hydrogen networks as well as systemic issues.
