This department promotes startups and innovations, advances pilot projects using new technologies and brings together stakeholders
Our mission
Digitalisation, the development of new technologies and innovative solutions are crucial for accelerating the energy transition and achieving climate neutrality. The department promotes innovations in digitalisation, advances pilot projects using new technologies and develops forward-looking business models. We support startups and promote the networking of all relevant stakeholders.
Our approach
We support startups in all aspects and free of charge through knowledge transfer, consulting and pilot projects. We promote the networking of decision-makers from politics, the startup ecosystem and the energy industry nationally and internationally. To do so, we host events, publish information and promote pilot projects.
The Future Energy Lab in Berlin, our central location, is a real-world laboratory that brings together startups with established decision-makers in the energy and digital sector and promotes pilot projects. The lab is a place of exchange for all stakeholders. Our goal is to accelerate the digitalisation of the energy transition.
Our organisational structure
The department has around 35 employees and is divided into two work areas.
Work areas
Digital Technologies: promotes the implementation of pilot projects on digital technologies of the future such as artificial intelligence and the blockchain, drives innovation in a targeted manner and in the process accelerates the digitalisation of the energy transition.
Startup Ecosystem: supports national and international startups with consulting, mentoring, pilot projects, networking and publications. Energy technologies are promoted and made visible via the global SET platform at an early stage.
