Database of Energy Efficiency Experts

A national directory of verified, qualified experts for energy-efficient and sustainable construction and refurbishment

Goal: to verify qualifications and find professional specialists easily

Topics: Energy efficiency, Funding, Buildings, Industry, Redesigning buildings and areas

Runtime: since 2011

Our mission

Anyone who wants to build or refurbish in an energy-efficient and sustainable way requires the help of qualified energy efficiency experts. They ensure the quality of energy efficiency and sustainability measures in buildings. They also support applicants in the funding process. Many quality standards and construction specifications must be met, both in energy consulting and in construction planning and guidance, for sustainable and highly efficient new buildings and refurbishments. Mistakes or inaccuracies can result in the expected savings not being achieved, meaning that the associated subsidies cannot be paid out. Strong quality standards and a reliable, clear data source are therefore particularly important.

dena has coordinated the Database of Energy Efficiency Experts, which lists experts for subsidised energy consultations as well as refurbishment and new construction projects, since 2011. The aim is to establish uniform national quality standards for energy consultations and construction planning and guidance. The Database of Energy Efficiency Experts for Government Subsidy Programmes will be further expanded on to act as a central point of contact. In this manner, private builders, companies and local authorities will also be able to find qualified experts in their region quickly and easily in the future.

Our approach

The specialists registered in the Database of Energy Efficiency Experts come from all over Germany and work in energy consulting, architecture, engineering and skilled trades. Their wide-ranging expertise enables them to cover a broad spectrum of buildings, ranging from private residences to municipal and commercial buildings, right through to listed buildings and monuments.

The Database of Energy Efficiency Experts ensures that qualifications of the registered specialists from the various professions are equivalent and of high quality. All experts must prove that they fulfil the quality standards of the Database of Energy Efficiency Experts, both when they are admitted and when they renew again every three years. dena monitors the documentation provided. In addition, the work results of the registered specialists are also randomly checked through on-site inspections, for example.
