Bundesförderung für effiziente Gebäude (Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings – BEG)
Supporting the relevant federal ministries, KfW and the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control in the design, coordination and implementation of the funding
Goal: to standardise procedures, professional interpretation and technical processes, thereby increasing the impact of the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings programme.
Topics: Energy efficiency, Renewable energies, Funding, Redesigning buildings and areas
Runtime: since 2021
Our mission
The Secretariat supports the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), as well as the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Construction (BMWSB), KfW and the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) in the design, coordination and implementation of federal funding for energy-efficient buildings.
Implementation is based on a uniform funding structure for residential and non-residential buildings.
Individual renovation measures are funded through grants towards investment costs. Building renovations to ‘efficiency building’ standards and climate-friendly new builds are supported via low-interest loans. A bonus scheme complements the funding.
To achieve significant climate protection benefits, there are:
- clear funding criteria,
- minimum technical requirements,
- support from qualified specialists, and
- quality assurance measures.
Our approach
dena standardises procedures, technical interpretations and technical processes. The aim is to enhance the appeal and impact of the Federal Funding Scheme for Energy-Efficient Buildings (BEG). In addition, Dena carries out further quality assurance measures as part of its administrative office.
dena’s tasks include:
- Design, preparation and implementation of internal dialogue formats and technical working groups
- Technical support and advice on design issues and technical implementation
- Quality assurance on selected aspects of the funding scheme and the guidelines
- Support for the standardisation of common processes relating to the funding scheme.
