Scandria®2Act

As part of the Scandria®2Act project, dena is collaborating with European partners to support energy-efficient transport and the development of alternative fuels in Europe.

The challenge

With the reduction of trade obstacles and travel restrictions within Europe, it is above all the mobility of persons and goods via roads which has increased. Apart from the positive economic effects, this has also led to negative environmental and climatic effects. Hence, the European Commission’s goal is to shift transport to low-emission modes of transportation and to promote alternative fuels.

Our solution

In the project Scandria®2Act, dena will work together with partners from Germany, Sweden, and Norway to present and evaluate approaches and measures which are particularly effective and efficient at promoting the market development of alternative fuels. These measures should work at the regional, national, and EU levels, and hence lead to an improvement in transnational mobility with electric, hydrogen, and natural gas vehicles.

The effect

Together with its partners, dena will compile a “Clean Fuel Strategy” which contains a catalogue of measures for the development of alternative fuels. This strategy paper will form the starting point for discussions with decision-makers from politics, industry, and science in order to achieve the targets of the Alternative Infrastructure Directive (AFID) as well as the European climate targets in the transport sector.
