Innovation behaviour of the energy industry

Innovations were and are necessary for the energy transition to progress. These include, for example, more efficient and environmentally friendly energy generators or electrified vehicles. Above all, however, digital technologies will increasingly have to find their way into the energy system. To achieve this, the energy industry needs an adequate willingness to innovate – a topic that dena focussed on in its analysis. It provides information on the most significant differences in innovation behaviour in the energy industry compared to the economy as a whole and provides explanations based on an industry survey, which should serve as a starting point for the development of measures to increase innovative strength.
