The topic of dynamic electricity pricing is increasingly entering the public debate. The German Act to Relaunch the Digitalisation of the Energy Transition (Gesetz zum Neustart der Digitalisierung der Energiewende, GNDEW) and the Federal Network Agency’s consultation process on Section 14(a) of the German Energy Industry Act have recently brought it into focus. All electricity suppliers will have to offer dynamic electricity pricing from 2025. Consumers can use the pricing system to shift their electricity consumption to cheaper times. dena carried out a project, together with Consentec, in which design options for new rates and electricity price models were identified and analysed and possible target effects, other (side) effects and implementation requirements for these electricity pricing models were explained.n.
