10/21/24 Energy efficiency Heating transition Redesigning buildings and areas

The countdown is on: Heat Pump Week rolls out across Germany in November

Around 300 events will be held across the country where citizens can find out all about heat pumps and funding opportunities and exchange ideas with experts from 4 to 10 November.

Berlin, Germany, 21 October 2024. Heat pumps play a crucial role in efficiently supplying buildings with heat from renewable energies. Heat Pump Week aims to inform citizens about this technology and support them in their decision-making process. The week has much in store for anyone interested such as presentations, an exhibition and examples of best practice around 300 regional events in over 75 districts. The aim is to share the regulatory frameworks and possibilities for installation as well as funding opportunities. The focus here is the application in existing buildings. Homeowners can talk directly to experts from their region.

‘Heat pumps are indispensable for the energy transition in buildings,’ emphasises Corinna Enders, CEO. ‘Heat Pump Week enables people throughout Germany to find out about the technology both in person in their local area and digitally.’

dena was commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action with the overall coordination. Heat Pump Week is being organised by an alliance of approximately 30 local and regional agencies and institutions. The information services are tailored to the respective region, for example, with regard to approvals and funding conditions. In addition, new networks dealing with the topic of heat supply and heat pumps can be established at the ‘marketplace of regional energy experts’ as part of Heat Pump Week.

The calendar of events and information on heat pumps are available on the central website at:
