Webinar on Energy Communities in Poland
Energy Communities can play an important role in the energy transition. They offer citizens, companies and municipalities the opportunity to actively shape local change and to take care of their own energy supply at favourable prices.
On November 20th 2024, the German-Polish Energy Platform presented a new handout on the establishment of Energy Communities in Poland during a webinar. Anna Wasielewski, Project Manager at dena, presented the activities of the project launched in 2021 to around 60 participants from Polish cities, municipalities and companies. Paweł Gilewski, project manager at KAPE, and Anna Piórkowska, energy community expert at KAPE, gave an overview of the legal framework for energy communities in Poland and presented inspiring examples from the field.
The handbook was developed by KAPE as part of the German-Polish Energy Platform and funded by the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation. The document is available at Podręcznik 'Tworzenie społeczności energetycznych w oparciu o studia przypadków' | Krajowa Agencja Poszanowania Energii | KAPE S.A.. A recording of the webinar is available here on YouTube (both in Polish).
In 2022, the platform published a comparative analysis of energy communities in the two countries, presenting existing concepts, solutions and the legal framework. You can access the study here.
