German-Polish Energy Transition Forum 2026

The 4th German-Polish Energy Transition Forum took place on 9 June 2026 at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin. Around 130 representatives from politics, business, industry, and civil society from both countries came together to exchange views on key energy policy issues related to a secure, stable, and resilient energy supply in Europe.

This year’s forum was again complemented by a supporting programme, including a welcome reception on the evening before and additional side events, organised in cooperation with further partners, including Germanwatch and the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM).

Under the theme “Securing Europe’s Energy Future,” participants exchanged views on pathways to reducing dependence on fossil fuel imports and enhancing the resilience of Europe’s energy system in the context of ongoing geopolitical challenges.

One key message of the discussions was: closer cooperation between Germany and Poland can significantly accelerate and improve the efficiency of renewable energy expansion and the development of the infrastructure required to support it. In addition, crucial issues such as secure supply chains, protection against hybrid threats, and the establishment of a circular economy can only be effectively addressed through joint action and close collaboration with European partners.

The forum was organized by the German-Polish Energy Platform on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).
