dena and Polish National Energy Agency KAPE launch platform for cross-border cooperation
The German-Polish Energy Platform, established by dena on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office in collaboration with the Polish National Energy Saving Agency KAPE, is strengthening German-Polish cooperation for the energy transition and climate protection.
The two countries' energy agencies will share their expertise and join their networks via the platform. The aim is to foster understanding between Poland and Germany, and to create a shared path towards climate neutrality.
Focus on energy communities
Initially, the focus will be on energy communities. The platform promotes the exchange of experience and develops projects together with cities, organisations and companies from both countries. An energy community is an association of local stakeholders involved in the joint production and utilisation of energy. The project will analyse the structure of energy communities in both countries and how the framework conditions can be improved. Building on this, the project will analyse how a cross-border energy region could function by bringing together municipalities, companies, and citizens on both sides of the border.
