Uniper

Uniper is an international energy company based in Düsseldorf and active in more than
40 countries. With around 7,000 employees, the company makes an important contribution to security of supply in Europe, particularly in its core markets of Germany, Great Britain, Sweden and the Netherlands.
Uniper's activities include power generation in Europe, global energy trading and a broad gas portfolio. Uniper procures gas - also as liquefied natural gas (LNG) - and other energy sources on the world markets. The company manages gas storage facilities with a capacity of more than 7 billion cubic meters.
Uniper intends to be completely CO2-neutral by 2040. In 2030, Uniper wants to use more than 80 percent of its installed power plant capacity to produce CO2-free electricity. To this end, the company is transforming its own power plants and facilities and investing in flexible and plannable power generation facilities. The company is already one of the largest operators of hydroelectric power plants in Europe and is driving the further expansion of solar and wind energy as the key to a more sustainable and secure future.
The gas portfolio is gradually being expanded to include green gases such as hydrogen and biomethane with the aim of a long-term conversion. Uniper is a reliable partner for municipalities, municipal utilities and industrial companies in the planning and implementation of innovative, CO2-reducing solutions on the way to decarbonizing their activities. As a hydrogen pioneer, Uniper is active worldwide along the entire value chain and implements projects to make hydrogen usable as a mainstay of the energy supply.
