GUTcert – expertise in biogas, biomethane and renewable energy

GUTcert GmbH is an independent certification, verification and environmental assessment organisation based in Berlin and a member of the international AFNOR Group. For many years, GUTcert has supported companies and plant operators in meeting legal and regulatory requirements in the field of renewable energy.

A key area of expertise is the assessment of biogas plants, biogas upgrading plants and biomethane facilities. We cover the entire value chain – from biogas production and upgrading to the production of biomethane and its subsequent use, for example in biomethane CHP units.

As an environmental verification body, GUTcert provides assessments under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), including requirements related to remuneration, CHP and manure bonuses, post-EEG support, flexibilisation and other EEG-related provisions. In addition, we support operators and companies with sustainability requirements, renewable gases, guarantees of origin and other regulatory requirements.

Our approach combines regulatory expertise with a sound understanding of the technical and operational realities of renewable energy plants. Especially for biogas and biomethane projects, reliable verification and technically sound assessments are essential for continued operation, further development and new investment.
