Expanding the use of renewable energies is among the supporting pillars in the energy transition. This project is now at an advanced stage. The share of renewables, especially in electricity consumption, is rising from year to year. Redesigning the energy system with due consideration of the various interdependencies will be the principal task for the future. The main focus will be on developing robust business models and creating suitable framework conditions.
Competent political consultancy in Germany and abroad
dena supports actors in business and politics in the continued, successful expansion of market and system integration for renewable energy sources. The specialist teams at dena advocate the development of new markets and provide competent advice to decision-makers. dena remains in close dialogue with actors within German industry. In the Biogas Partners project, for instance, dena brings together 50 senior figures from the entire value chain of biogas feed-in and use to support them in market cultivation and communication with politicians and the general public. These actors promote know-how and technology transfer on an international stage, allowing other nations to benefit from Germany’s positive experience too, for instance in the design of its own political and economic framework. Together with Edelman.ergo, dena is a partner to BMWi in communicating the German energy transition to the world. The two agencies' tasks include developing a comprehensive international communications strategy and looking after foreign delegations.
Market development and studies
The German renewable energy industry benefits from dena’s expertise and networking, for instance in the definition and establishment of markets and the identification of new technologies. The dena market analysis provides a summarised appraisal of twelve technologies in the electricity and heat markets in a global comparison. These studies, as does the Biomethane Industry Barometer, help decision-makers in business and politics plan their next steps. Moreover, dena accompanies German companies in the cultivation of (new) renewable energy markets abroad. The instruments designed to promote exports include the dena-supported “Energy Export Initiative” by BMWK.
