The following mechanisms ensure quality and security in the German Biogasregister:

Internal quality assurance

  • Retention of copies of the audit reports
  • Personalized access only with plausibility check by registry administrator

Technical security measures

  • Penetration test to ensure data integrity
  • Personalized login with ID and password
  • Exclusive access via encrypted connection (SSL)

IDW PS 880 Audit (2018)

In 2018, version 3.2 of the Biogasregister Deutschland application was audited by a renowned auditing company on the basis of the auditing standard “Auditing of software products” (IDW PS 880) published by the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer in Deutschland e.V. (Institute of Public Auditors in Germany).

The Biogasregister Deutschland is certified as a quality-assured and orderly development. In addition, the register complies with the principles of proper accounting (GoB) and can be used as documentation for internal company audits (e.g. annual audit, company audits, internal audits).

As the registered data serves as the basis for many downstream steps (deliveries, invoicing, audits, etc.), dena regularly renews the certification.

In addition to the audited version, the software development is also certified. This ensures that subsequent versions also meet the standards.
