Thüga Energie GmbH is a modern, customer-oriented energy supply company and belongs to the Thüga Group, the largest municipal energy network in Germany. Around 100,000 customers are supplied with electricity, natural gas and heat in the Hegau and western Lake Constance regions, as well as Allgäu-Oberschwaben and Rheinhessen-Pfalz. Renewable energies are not only an integral part of the product range. Thüga Energie GmbH also invests in the latest technologies. The most recent major project is a biogas processing plant that is operated in cooperation with BRV - Biologische Reststoff Verwertung GmbH.

Greater efficiency thanks to innovative technology

BRV uses food that is no longer intended for consumption in its biogas plant in Kißlegg Rahmhaus. The ultra-modern processing plant, which was put into operation in May 2010, converts the gas mixture into a biogas that achieves natural gas quality. The innovative membrane technology used there makes it possible to process the gas without using process water or chemical cleaning agents. The new biogas cleaning process is not only more ecologically sustainable, but also significantly more economically efficient than conventional biogas processing processes.

The processed biogas is fed into the natural gas network and can be used as a fuel and energy supplier. The biogas from Kißlegg can supply around 1,000 households.
