In addition to the secure supply of gas, our focus is on the generation and marketing of biogas and electricity from renewable sources, the construction and operation of district and local heating networks and energy-saving services - all in conjunction with renewable energies. We can look back on a long tradition as an energy supplier. Currently, 200 towns and municipalities are connected to over 7,000 km of pipelines. Public institutions as well as businesses, industry and private households use our services, which cover the entire spectrum of energy supply.
In order to actively shape the energy transition as a regional partner in the long term, energie schwaben has founded the 100% subsidiary schwaben regenerativ. schwaben regenerativ operates a biogas processing plant in Altenstadt/Schongau. It uses biogenic waste to produce biogas and feeds 45 million kWh of biogas into the grid every year. This enables around 3,000 households to use green energy.
