Flexibility and efficiency make biomethane an ideal energy source for the energy transition. And yet, at the moment, biomethane hardly plays any part in the German government's package of solutions. The 2014 Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) scrapped the processing bonus; the 2016 EEG might bring further cuts.
