Germany is one of Ukraine’s most important trade and investment partners and is keen to see an economically prosperous, stable and democratic development of the country. This is why the German federal government is cultivating intensive economic and political collaboration with Ukraine, whose energy-intensive economy, with its outmoded infrastructure and dependence on energy imports, is in need of modernisation. The aim of the project is to strengthen and expand the bilateral relationships in energy policy and enter into deeper dialogue in the energy sector.
As part of this project, dena is helping to foster German-Ukrainian cooperation in the areas of sustainable energy production, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, thereby supporting the modernisation of Ukraine’s energy sector. With the involvement of the most important political stakeholders with knowledge of Ukraine and the inclusion of companies and institutions from both countries, measures aimed at boosting the exchange of ideas about energy and energy efficiency will be developed and implemented. This will be achieved by developing existing dialogue formats and creating new ones.
Intensifying the collaboration between Germany and Ukraine in energy matters will improve both the exchange of ideas between specialists and the expertise of players at the governmental level. The inclusion of a broad circle of stakeholders ensures that a wide range of knowledge and practical experience will be represented. By bringing together perspectives and levels of expertise in this way, the collaboration between Germany and Ukraine in energy policy will be sustainably enhanced.
