Anyone looking to build a new energy-efficient building or refurbish an existing building will require assistance from qualified experts. After all, expected savings can be lost due to even minor lapses during the planning or construction phase. But where can one find certified experts for energy efficiency? What had been lacking so far was a central directory based on uniform, national quality standards that cover the entire range of energy-efficient buildings – from private homes and municipal or commercial buildings, to listed monuments.
The Database of Energy Efficiency Experts for Government Funding Programmes was created to provide quick and simple access to professionals in the field of energy-efficient building and refurbishment. The website is designed firstly for investors looking for a suitable energy consultant, but also for the energy consultants themselves as a place to offer their services. The offering is rounded off by information for education providers and network partners. dena is the contact person for about 13,000 registered experts, dena checks their qualifications and samples of their work results.
In this respect, dena cooperates closely with the project partners and sponsors of the most important funding programmes in the Building Efficiency Alliance: the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), KfW and the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). 23 network partners throughout Germany, including technical chambers, associations and energy agencies support the project.
Private investors and companies use the Database of Energy Experts to locate energy consultants with trustworthy qualifications in their regions at the push of a button. Besides contact to experienced consultants, consumers also receive all the necessary information on suitable funding programmes. The register is constantly growing: in 2017 it has expanded to include about 13,000 experts, and new database categories have also been added.
