Our fields of action

Designing the energy transition

We drive the energy transition. In order to do this, we cooperate with partners and customers in business and politics, appreciating the bigger picture across all industries and relevant fields of action. Together we identify solutions, develop strategies and implement pilot projects.

Optimise

Efficiency first

Many people will initially think of renewable energies when they hear the term “energy transition”. But increasing energy efficiency is at least as important. Let’s not forget: the greenest kilowatt hour is the one that is never produced. The expertise that dena brings to the table makes it an essential partner to industry and politics in the development and implementation of energy efficiency strategies. A valuable source of information, dena promotes networks and develops solutions.

Integrate

Energy systems of the future

Step by step, Germany’s energy supply is switching to renewable energy sources. This process comes with a new set of challenges. Production will depend increasingly on the weather and will be provided by larger numbers of decentralised units. The many different components of the energy system need to be connected and coordinated intelligently. dena develops solutions for an integrated energy system – in close dialogue with partners in all the relevant sectors.

Position

Stakeholder dialogue

The energy transition will only succeed if everyone contributes. It will also require expert mediation between the stakeholders in industry, politics and society and their varied interests. Dialogue is an essential component in finding the best solutions for the energy transition. dena brings the stakeholders together. It provides platforms for communication, mediating independently between the interests of the individual companies and industries.

Cooperate

The international energy transition

Germany is not an island – especially when it comes to energy. The nations of Europe face the challenge of building a sustainable supply system. Interest in efficient and green energy technologies is growing around the world. Here, Germany’s energy transition is a shop window for practical solutions and innovation. dena builds on this position by launching pilot projects that advance the cause of international cooperation in issues of relevance to the energy transition.
