dena takes energy transition start-ups to E-world trade fair

Registration deadline for dena start-up bus is end of January

In cooperation with the E-world trade fair, the Deutsche Energy-Agentur (dena) - the German Energy Agency - is offering entrepreneurs from the greater Berlin area the opportunity to establish contact with classic energy industry companies to present and develop new ideas in support of the energy transition. A dedicated bus will take the participants to the E-world fair in Essen for a special start-up programme that will take place on 17 and 18 February. Prospective participants can still register until 31 January using the following website: www.dena-startup-bus.de.

"We need fresh business ideas for the second phase of the energy transition," emphasises Andreas Kuhlmann, dena's Chief Executive. "The energy sector is at a turning point - this is a good time for young companies: Renewable energy poses fresh challenges for the system and digitisation offers exciting possibilities for innovation. We have organised the dena start-up bus and the associated programme with the aim of supporting start-ups whose business ideas contribute to the success of the energy transition. We also want to draw attention to their innovative activities. All suitable companies are invited to make use of this exceptional opportunity."

The trip will start on Wednesday morning, 17 February and end on Thursday evening, 18 February. Various events at the E-world fair have been planned as part of the start-up programme, among them a panel discussion on the subject of the energy transition, the presentation of the energy app award and a meeting with investors and industry representatives. The participants are welcome to use dena's trade fair stand for meetings.

The event has the support of ":agile Accelerator", an E-ON innovation incentive programme, the energy supplier GASAG, the KIC-InnoEnergy innovation network, the environmental service provider Veolia and the operating company of the science and technology park Berlin-Adlershof, Wista-Management. Further partners include Fördergesellschaft Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie, the KIC-InnoEnergy innovation network, E-world, the German Technology Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC) and the Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

"The energy market revolution. Be part of it!" group of the "Meet-up" social network came up with the idea for the tour bus. Presented by Andreas Kuhlmann, the group predominantly addresses start-up companies which want to contribute to the success of the energy transition.
