With immediate effect, car manufacturers, dealers and leasing companies can use the new fuel prices when producing car ecolabels. The prices were published on 30th June 2016 in the ‘Bundesanzeiger’ (Federal Gazette) by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The car ecolabel informs consumers about a vehicle’s CO2 efficiency rating, fuel consumption, maintenance costs and environmental impact.
The Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena), German Energy Agency, points out that the latest prices will be mandatory on labels issued from 1st October 2016. New cars whose ecolabels were produced prior to 30th June will also have to have a new label.
Producing labels made easy – at www.pkw-label.de
At www.pkw-label.de dealers can generate car ecolabels themselves – manually or automatically. The tool already uses the latest fuel prices.
The latest fuel price list and further information on the energy efficiency labelling of cars are also available on the online information platform for car ecolabels. The BMWi updates the prices of fuel and other energy sources every June to keep them in line with current price trends. The Passenger Car Energy Consumption Labelling Act provides the basis for the price adjustments.
The information platform for car ecolabels is a dena initiative funded by the BMWi.
