Wednesday, 29 March 2023, 18:00-20:00

During the two-hour event, country representatives and German business representatives have the opportunity to share and exchange information on the applicable legal and economic conditions in areas of renewable energy and international partnerships. The dialogue is an official part of the supporting program of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2022 and the Berlin Energy Week.

The B2G dialogues offers the following advantages:

  • The opportunity to gain practical knowledge first-hand and to make contacts.
  • Take part in the exchange between German companies and government representatives.
  • Receive information about investment conditions and opportunities.
  • The possibility to present your own project ideas.

Background:

Uruguay covers 98 % of its energy needs from renewable energy sources and aims to position itself as a global production location for green hydrogen. In 2020, the AHK Uruguay, together with the German Embassy in Montevideo and German companies, launched a hydrogen initiative to supply green hydrogen to Germany. The first major hydrogen project by a German company was already presented to the public in May 2022. To drive the national expansion of a hydrogen economy, the Uruguayan government has also started its own pilot projects (H2U and H2U Offshore) and created a green hydrogen fund in inter-institutional working groups of ministries and state-owned companies.
