Start Up Energy Transition (SET) is an international platform supporting innovation in energy transition - powered by the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council. It is comprised of the annual SET Award and SET Tech Festival.
In order to reach global climate goals a reduction in greenhouse gases of 80 up to 95 percent until 2050 will be necessary. Besides a significant enhancement of energy efficiency the use of renewable energy sources in all sectors is crucial. In this sense Power to X represents a key technology for decarbonisation.
The World Energy Council has recently published its annual World Energy Issues Monitor, which identifies stress points affecting the global energy transition. We took the opportunity to talk with the Council’s secretary general, Christoph Frei, about the topics that are most important to us regarding the transformation of the energy system.
Winners come from Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands and Kenya / Finalists presented their ideas at the Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival in Berlin
