The dena Energy Efficiency Congress ended on 12 November with a debate on the general acceptance of the energy transition. Attended by over 700 participants, over 60 speakers and more than 20 exhibitors, the event, which covered a range of subjects from building refurbishment to optimised electricity systems, served as a central platform for the key subject of the energy transition. read more

12.11.2014 dena congress: Finding a solution to the refurbishment backlog

The opening plenary session on the second day of the congress focused on energy efficiency in buildings. “How can we motivate home owners to refurbish their properties?”, was the key question formulated by Stephan Kohler. Although energy efficiency has met with a high level of acceptance and is associated with numerous advantages, Germany’s refurbishment rate of 0.8 percent is still far too low. read more
