The implementation of energy efficiency projects in Central European countries is still way below what it might be. The reason for this can be found in unfavourable conditions for the financing of efficiency projects on the one hand, and in a lack of knowledge when it comes to the identification of suitable projects and drawing up corresponding business and financial plans on the other.

There is still very significant potential for increasing energy efficiency in Russia. Against this background dena has carried out a study of energy efficiency potential in Russian local and district heating supply systems. The project is part of the International Climate Protection Initiative.

JI Handbook for Ukrainian companies Page  This project has ended.

In cooperation with Ukrainian partners, dena has drawn up a JI Handbook for Ukrainian companies. The Handbook provides a solid basis for Ukrainian companies to benefit from the possibilities of Joint Implementation (JI) as a mechanism for co-financing investments in greenhouse gas emission reductions.

The JI Manual was written for Russian companies wishing to profit from the new opportunities provided by the flexible “Joint Implementation” (JI) project mechanism and contains important information on all aspects of JI project implementation in Russia.
