Aktion Klimaschutz was a marketing campaign for action against climate change by the private individual and for partners from industry and associations. The campaign also sought to link up and thus strengthen individual activities to mitigate climate change.
The dena study entitled Analysis of Pumped-Storage Plants – Integration of Renewable Energy Sources investigates the significance to the energy sector of constructing additional pumped-storage capacity and other power storage systems as important constituents of a flexible power plant fleet for integrating renewable energy sources.
The implementation of energy efficiency projects in Central European countries is still way below what it might be. The reason for this can be found in unfavourable conditions for the financing of efficiency projects on the one hand, and in a lack of knowledge when it comes to the identification of suitable projects and drawing up corresponding business and financial plans on the other.
Local authorities and public sector institutions had the opportunity to enter copybook examples of energy saving projects in dena's competition. The four prize winners received their awards totalling EUR 25,000 on 12 October 2010 during the dena Energy Efficiency Congress 2010.

The main objective was to develop strategies for the integration of renewable energy sources into the electricity supply. The dena Grid Study 1 suggests measures which will make it possible for renewable energies to contribute 20 % to the provision of electricity in Germany between 2015 and 2020.
As part of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Year of Science, the German Energy Agency (dena) is organising a youth congress entitled “How will we meet our energy needs in the future?”
