The Initiative EnergieEffizienz is a nationwide platform for action targeting the efficient use of electricity in all consumer sectors. It provides end consumers, professionals and opinion makers with information and advice on the potential for energy efficiency that exists wherever electricity is used.

The challenges faced by energy policies are many and varied, with energy efficiency playing a key role, helping as it does to reduce electricity bills, increase corporate competitiveness and reduce carbon emissions. The national information and motivation campaign Initiative EnergieEffizienz informs users from all walks of life of energy savings potentials, encouraging them to adopt efficient habits and to invest in electrical efficiency.
The savings potential which exists in industry and production, the services sector, public institutions and private households must be exploited rigorously - and such utilisation often goes hand in hand with an increase in the quality of life both in the home and at work. The possibilities are endless: simple alterations to our habits and the use of energy-efficient technologies, for example, can reduce the electricity used in private households by up to 25 percent. This figure increases to up to 30 percent in the interdisciplinary technologies of compressed air and pumps in industry and to even 75 percent in the field of information and communication technologies.
In creating the Initiative EnergieEffizienz dena has established a platform for action where the efficient use of electricity in all consumer sectors is concerned. The agency provides comprehensive information and advice in campaigns throughout Germany which is targeted at the end consumer in private households, in industry and production and in the services sector. Under the initiative, dena also organises workshops on specific topics related to the rational use of electricity.
The Initiative EnergieEffizienz is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). Moreover, numerous partners from the business world support sector-specific campaign modules.campaign modules.
