Renewable energy is becoming increasingly important in the sustainable development context. Nevertheless, the services provided in this area have so far played a very minor role in scientific debate.

Exportability and opportunities for internationalisation of renewable energy services.

The research project has been set up to gain fresh and application-relevant knowledge regarding the exportability and opportunities for internationalisation of services in the renewable energy field. Product-supporting services are as important as skill-intensive advisory services, such as R&D, training or financing. It is the aim of the project to record and classify services in all different renewable energy fields. Furthermore, methodological export potential analysis will be combined with a lead market-oriented approach. At the same time, central impediments and success factors will be identified and export potentials for relevant services determined. On the basis of this research, business concepts for enhanced internationalisation will be developed as well as strategic concepts and policy recommendations for intermediaries and political decision-makers.
In conjunction with two further schemes, this research project represents a lead project of the “Environmental Services” cluster funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
