dena hosted a very successful JI/CDM investor forum in Leipzig from 14 - 16 October 2007 at the request of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. At the forum, project owners from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia were brought together with potential investors for JI/CDM projects.

With around 70 participants and the presentation of over 50 projects, this was a unique forum providing sufficient opportunity for business-to-business meetings between interested investors and project owners. The projects came from a wide variety of business sectors, and focused on topics such as energy efficiency measures and the use of renewables as a source of energy.

In addition, plenary sessions were held in which the preliminary results of CDM and JI projects in Germany were presented and current problems experienced when implementing projects in the regions were discussed. The forum ended with a discussion of the differing national approaches to the use of Green Investment Schemes in the future.
