The countries of Central Asia have enormous potential to increase energy efficiency and to use more renewable energies. dena’s activities in this region are aimed in particular at collaborating with the governments of the countries of Central Asia to support the development of favourable conditions, as well as state programmes and market instruments. Ground-breaking projects will be developed and implemented in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energies.
dena supports each government by making recommendations for appropriate requirements and incentive mechanisms for climate protection and energy efficiency, and it supports the development of bilateral energy efficiency projects. For example, dena is advising the Kazakh government in its major programme of modernisation and industrialisation by preparing state instruments and measures to increase energy efficiency in industry.
dena is developing the projects in cooperation with local partners and the relevant authorities. It brings together the project participants with German businesses, mainly to promote knowledge transfer and targeted qualifications.
